Community Champions Q+A
What is it? A new initiative by Garnsychan Partnership building on the amazing work of our Partner Organisations. Our goal: to boost the health, wellbeing, and vitality of our local communities by delivering support where and when it’s needed. We'll develop and support a network of local volunteers to make this happen.
What support will I get? We’ve got your back. From initial info sessions to ongoing advice and coaching, we’re here to support you every step of the way. Plus, we’re always working to identify and fill any gaps in community services.
Who can be a Community Champion? Anyone passionate about their community! Whether you're already involved in a local group or new to volunteering, if you care and want to help, you can be a Champion.
What will a Community Champion do? Tasks vary, but no one must do everything:

Help with practical tasks like shopping or picking up prescriptions.

Signpost those in financial or mental health difficulties to appropriate support.

Be a friendly face and a listening ear for those who need it.
Where does Garnsychan Partnership fit in? We’re here to support you! We'll provide up-to-date info on local activities and available support. Our team is here to advise on services and to listen to what the community needs, ensuring support is delivered where it's needed most.
Is there a cost involved? Nope! As a Volunteer, there’s no cost to you. Garnsychan Partnership covers all setup and coordination costs.

How much time do I need to commit? It varies! Whether you can spare a few hours a week or more, every bit helps. Flexible initial information sessions are available.
